Assisting the Strata Executive Committee of the 32 apartments in their objection against a development application for a nearby property comprising alterations and additions to an existing dwelling house including internal re-configuration, new rear addition, dormers, covered deck, double garage with studio over, landscape works and new front gate.
99 Marine Parade, Redcliffe, QLD
A high end, mixed use development designed by Cox Rayner Architects and Altis Architects. Demolition of an existing hotel and the construction of two towers, one comprising 76 serviced apartments, the other 104 residential units. Beneath the towers is a large hotel with mezzanine, several retail premises and offices. Working on full time secondment to the client as a Development Manager to seek a “generally in accordance” amendment to the original DA prepared by Cox Rayner Architects. Tender, negotiation and selection of all consultants including specialty hospitality architect Altis as the project architect and responsibility for all consultancy agreements. Concept design development through to more detailed design for the coordination of services and structure. Review of pre-tender estimates, feasibility and establishment of budget and then an EOI campaign, tender to demolition contractors and main building works contractors. Review of the AS4300 D&C contract, project specific clauses and preparation of the Development Brief/Principal’s Project Requirements (PPR).

32 luxury apartment development designed by Bates Smart Architects. Responsible for the full range of Project Management services as part of the D&C Contract plus budgets, scope changes, submission and approvals for Authorities.
Oran Park, Bringelly, NSW
Residential land release area of 1,300 hectares in South West Sydney. A joint venture with the Greenfield Development Corporation and Landcom. Development of the masterplan, localities within precincts, addressing of LEP and DCP issues, Section 94 Developer Contributions with focus on sustainability, infrastructure delivery, transport initiatives, urban design and energy efficiency.

Aged Care
Lakeview, Shellharbour, NSW
100 Bed Retirement Aged Care Facility (RACF) for Uniting Care designed by Flower & Samios Architects. One of Australia’s most energy and water efficient aged care buildings adopting cut edge technology and services. Full project management services as client representative including, submission of amendment to DA approval to include sustainable design initiatives (ESD), services and technology upgrades, coordination of detailed design, EOI/tender/review to head contractors. Superintendent and contract administration during construction phase.
Banks Lodge, Peakhurst, NSW
112 Bed nursing home; new build and re-development for Uniting Care and designed by McFadyen Architects. Full project management services as the client’s representative bought on to remedy a distressed project. Agent of the superintendent during construction, responsible for contract administration of lump sum contract (EOT’s, Variations, Progress Claims), co-ordination of consultants to make design changes as a result of scope deletion. Liaison with certifiers to obtain Commonwealth certification.
Mirinjani Nursing Home, ACT
Refurbishment of 60 Bed nursing home designed by Small Quinton Coleman Architects. Full project management services during the design and construction phases.
Management of an annual Capital Expenditure (capex) budget of approximately $5 million.
Education
WEA HOUSE (Workers Education Authority), 72 Bathurst Street, Sydney, NSW
Responsible for compiling the budget and programme for works as part of a submission to the Federal Government for a grant as part of the Building Education Revolution (BER) scope included replacement of three lifts, refurbishment of one level of training rooms and the complete reconfiguration of lobby to allow for a disabled access.
Commercial
7 Hectare Optus Campus headquarters, North Ryde, NSW (part of Singtel) on behalf of Stockland
Comprising 6 commercial buildings plus gym, childcare, restaurants and retail outlets with an NLA of 84,000 sqm housing 6,500 employees. Site based and responsible for the contract administration and project management of the D&C Contract and the Agreement for Lease (AFL): services surveying, EOT claims, progress claims, RFI’s and variations from Baulderstone Hornibrook the head contractor. Responsible for commissioning, defects and issue of the Occupation Certificate by the certifier for practical completion.
3 Commercial office towers in Sydney CBD for American Express, Sydney, NSW
On secondment to Trammell Crow (now part of CBRE) servicing their Amex Japan Asia Pacific hub contract. Solely responsible for the out-of-hours relocation of 800 employees and the redevelopment of 14 floors in Liverpool street including construction of new call centres, training facilities, conference rooms, meeting rooms, offices and workstations. In addition, works in other commercial buildings occupied by Amex in Australia and New Zealand plus assisting with the project management contract for the Agreement for Lease (AFL) of two new office towers around Darling Harbour.

Westpoint Shopping Centre, Blacktown, NSW
Representing the client Queensland Investment Corporation (QIC) in a project management capacity to manage the close out of defects by Laing O’Rourke.
Accelerated “Turnkey” roll out program of 52 RAMS Retail home loan centres
Australia wide during 2005. Client’s representative/project manager to develop a design and fit out guide, establish cost plans/budgets, submission of DA documentation to obtain planning approvals, review and selection of retail premises in Australia. Principal’s representative during construction. Liaison with head contractor plus nominated external suppliers to allow sites to be fully operational by franchisees from day one.
National Westpac Retail Banking portfolio - Australia wide
On secondment to Investa reviewing and reporting on design, scope of works and budgets for all Westpac commercial property to DDA, BCA and OH&S code (value $4.3 million).

Tenancy coordination for a new retail precinct on behalf of Multiplex Developments (value approx. $120 million), plus contract to manage delivery of retail tenancies at Warringah mall on the Northern Beaches and Macquarie shopping centre in North Ryde.

Industrial
Ausdoc Information Management, Steel River, Newcastle, NSW
Industrial warehouse fitted out for high volume document storage (value $1.5 million). Client’s representative during feasibility, concept, detailed design, construction, defects liability period. Submission of DA to Council and liaison with authorities. This project involved building over an area that was remediated as it was previously an Industrial area for BHP.
Process Design Engineering
Acetylene Gas Manufacturing facility, Yennora, NSW
Completed for Coregas, part of Wesfarmers Energy (value $10 million) and designed by Scott Carver Architects and Worley Parsons. A technical engineering project with a focus on management of cost, time and resources. Extensive civil and structural works to reconfigure the existing Coregas site and fast track strategy to allow delivery of a fully operational, 1,300 sqm production plant by joint contractors Prime Constructions and Transfield. Full client representative services including superintendent for cost-plus contract. Detailed design submission of amendment application to Council for the existing DA approval. Working across International, American, British and Australian design standards. Preparation of the project plan, project programs, PCG reporting, risk management, management of Worley Parsons (process design engineer) and recommendations for single select contractors and specialist installers, Prime Constructions and Transfield.
Infrastructure
A variety of infrastructure projects that often form the integral part of residential and mixed use schemes, hotels, aged care, retail, commercial, industrial and process design projects. This would include electricity, solar, gas, water, sewage treatment plants, stormwater detention systems, irrigation, waterways, coastal defences, telcomms (copper and fibre), airports, roads, rail, train, bus transit ways, cycle ways and pedestrian paths and the like. Involvement is usually at project conception or master planning phase, engaged by key stakeholders, with the aim of conducting reviews of the current infrastructure and the proposed infrastructure. This, coupled with supply and demand anaylsis for all built form is used in cost benefit modelling to determine budgets, obtain finance, undertake value engineering and ultimately to determine the most suitable elements for inclusion in more detailed design of a project.
Property Asset Management
Responsibility for the NSW Roads and Traffic Authority (RTA) commercial property portfolio, State Rail Authority (SRA) commercial property portfolio and several Sydney CBD commercial office buildings and industrial properties.
In the UK, asset management of and research for investment portfolios that included commercial, leisure, industrial and retail developments for the UBS Triton Property Fund, Clerical Medical Fund, Alba Life and Britannic Assurance Pension Funds.
